Pro-Adhesion Coatings

Aculon's pro-adhesion technology capitalizes on both the unique bonding potential to a variety of substrates and the versatility to modify the “other end” of SAMPs to deliver superior bonding to subsequently deposited coatings. Aculon researchers have demonstrated adhesion promotion between various materials, such as paint to metal or adhesive to plastics using chemically reactive SAMs.  Another example replaces chrome on copper to improve corrosion resistance and adhesion of an organic dielectric layer to the copper in electronic devices.
